![]() Contact & muziek contactmuziek@lombok.nl +31 (0)30-2942625 Leonoor van Beuzekom, Marthe Pal, Jeannette van Beuzekom, Erik de Jong Billitonstraat 6 3531 HJ Utrecht | Contact & muziek was originated through the wish of Leonoor to be able to be engaged on giving meaning to life. We have been living and working together since 2006. We all got stuck in our work, where we lacked the opportunity to take an own initiative and to be creative. We started to look for a conscious way of living and working together. We speak a lot with each other about our feelings, what we like and dislike, see philosophy about children and our ideas. We don't smoke, we don't drink alcohol or coffee. We eat vegetarian (without meat and fish), we don't take medicine. We have 6 solar panels on our roof. The tv became superfluous, because we are working on so many new things. We are working intensively on developing a new way of (musical) education. Leonoor is helping children to make their own songs and makes four, five and six-part arrangements of the songs, see children and booklets. Leonoor was a professional violinist. In 2006, she started teaching herself to play viola da gamba and lute, two instruments from the renaissance. Next, she teached Jeannette, Marthe and Erik to play these instruments as well. Starting in 2009 we began making single-tone bamboo flutes to play melodies together. This allows people, regardless of whether they have any experience with music, to play along with us. |

We are a viola da gamba, lute, bamboo flute and vocal quartet focusing on music from the renaissance. We play everything by heart.
You can listen to recordings of our music. We also made a
CD ourselves. Leonoor teaches music, viola da gamba and lute at our home to adults and small groups of children. Jeannette, Marthe and Erik help, sing and play along. Leonoor developed the teaching materials. Jeannette illustrated the booklets, rhythm charts and worksheets. They help children to learn the basics of music in such a way that they can really understand them. The children learn to play music and make beautiful sounds on single-tone bamboo flutes, small viols (violas da gamba) and lutes. We are relaxed, yet concentrated and peaceful, practising patience, learning to work together, singing, listening to ourselves and each other. Lessons always take two hours so that there is time to get new experiences. For a more detailed description of our activities, read the May 2011 newsletter. The calendar of events, also translated in English, shows an overview of our performances. We founded the Contact & muziek foundation with the following aim: To promote contact, communication and cooperation within a group using music as a tool by - giving music performances, especially for people in vulnerable social situations, such as children, senior citizens and people with a physical or mental handicap, in which people can participate; - the development of new forms of music teaching. You can support our foundation with a donation on Triodos bank account number 19.83.19.878 in the name of Stichting Contact & muziek in Utrecht. Our foundation is considered as an institution for the general benefit by the Dutch revenue. Because of that gifts can be deducted from income tax. We would like to inspire people through our way of living and making and teaching music, to work together and get on with each other in an open way. If you want to drop by to listen to our music or to talk, you're always welcome. |
